Can't play video in Dropbox?

Powerpoint for Mac 2008; video in PowerPoint 2008 plays fine but when open presentation in Dropbox, presentation opens ok but video won't play at all. Someone said that I have to actually embed the video. If this is true, I don't know what that means, I just inserted. Thanks.

Video in 2008 is always linked as far as I know and cannot be embedded.

This means the original video file needs to be available in the expected folder. I doubt this is what you have in Dropbox?

I think Dropbox does not support this feature, from dropbox point of view ppt presentation with video should be downloaded and run locally on computer
