Having seen PayPal mentioned a couple of times recently, it ocurred to me to ask about the experiences others have had with it. On another site I use there have been a lot of negative posts about PayPal. I won't repeat them here, but would like to hear your opinions - either from first-hand or close-hand experience, though, I'm not interested in just rumors.

I use PayPal for paying for eBay auctions. I've had no problems with it but then again, that is the extent of my experience with PayPal.

I use paypal a lot for buying and selling on ebay. I have had no problems with them. I do not like that they charge fees if you accept credit cards, even for the transactions that are not with credit cards, but what can you do.

Plus it is great to get the money immediately and not have to wait for checks or money orders to be mailed.

I've used it a few times for both buying/selling in a personal and professional capacity. It's been great to deal with for me. I have also heard/read bad stories about it, but the benefits of it seem to far out-weigh the benefits of not going with a big name such as PayPal.

Nothings foolproof or perfect, but it seems to work better than anything else thus far, short of direct account transference, which is a pain in the bottom. Imo. (Ensure opinion is taken w/ at least 1 grain of salt. ;) )

Made it myself with Canvas 7 (which I got a free full version when I bought a UK computer magazine - PCPLUS). It seems that UK PC magazines have lotsa goodies on a CD. This particular one came with a DVD.

I have used PayPal extensively for sale and purchase on eBay and other. I like it - I think the security is good too.
I like that I can pull up a full history of transactions and I also like that I can create Invoices and stuff if I want to.
I know that many folks had trouble with it early on and much bad press was created...even a dedicated 'hate' site, but I think that is in the past.

I even have the PayPal Debit Card so I can grab that cash with both hands!! (LOL!)

A few minor glitches from time to time but no major probs and never lost any cash or been hacked or shut down.
