My client wants to use a custom font in a new powerpoint template. Without embedding the font, the template is only 200k. As soon as I embed the fonts, the file size grows to over 2mb. Client is unhappy with this.

There are only two fonts, the custom TTF font, and Calibri. The TTF font is used only on headlines, all the text is Calibri.

Is there any way to limit the size of the new template with the embedded font, or only embed part of a font, or anything like this, to make a template that has user-editable fonts, but is smaller in size?

Any help would be appreciated

Well, I have 2016, and there is an option to subset embedded fonts under Options, Save that should work. I've never used it though

If you only embed characters in use you are likely to get edit problems.

I know this is not what you want to hear but if a client is using a custom font the real answer is to buy and install it.
