Sleeper: Controls etc not visible until clicked on

Hi team,

I have office 2016.

I have a word 'app' that has been working fine, but am now finding that controls, labels, boxes etc that used to work perfectly, now do not appear until clicked on, then the magically turn up.

I'm clicking where I know the item to be, but until I do there's just blank space.

Admittedly I'm a bit of a noob at this, but can't understand whats happening...

All help gratefully received.
