I have been running Office 2003 under WinXP for many years. I am migrating to Win7 and Office2007. I am having some problems with xl2007, in particular:

code that ran fine under 2003 is now halting because it can not find simple VBA procedures like lcase, ucase, etc.

All of my computers are set up identically with all opsys and program stuff on C:\, all data and link libraries, etc. on D:\ ; E:\ and a few more drives all have info that is shared across all computers. All computers are synced against the "master computer" (the one I use most of the time) at least once a week. Since the only data that changes and can be shared across all computers is on D:\, E:\, etc. I do not have to worry about or sync any part of C:\

When I set up xl2007, I added links from the XLSTART directory to the relevant files (essentially VBA libraries) on D:\ Worked just as I expected that it would. But then there was some sort of error and one of the links no longer works. xls files that had explicit references to the "missing" vba module do show that reference in the References area, but the vba module is not actually there.

Any help would be appreciated

Admittedly, some or all of these resources may not help you. But at first glance, they look promising !
