Need someone with Win95, Win98, WinNT, Win2K, WinME to test a VB app for us. Any takers?
Just a quickie installation is all we want you to check. Prefer that I am with you on Yahoo Instant Messenger while you do it.
We'll pay $25/each. :)
Thanks!!

I have Win95 - on a computer upstairs so can try that but it won't be easy holding a conversation downstairs on Yahoo at the same time.
I have Win98 - but is dual boot on PC with internet (I can theoretically connect on another but I wouldn't want to guarantee that it would work) so can't easily co-exist with Yahoo.
I have WinMe - on a computer right beside me so that one is easy.
I have Win2000 - but not currently installed so that's not a lot of use.
I don't have WinNT (except disguised as XP)
Any use?
One day I'll get organised and have them all running properly under VPC but I need to install a bigger disk and probably more memory first.

Sounds like you need a Mac so you can run 64+ systems: check out Amit Singh (http://www.kernelthread.com/os/) who works for IBM but uses a Mac!

It's just a happy accident I have all these systems - I don't think I could handle all those other ones although I am pondering putting Linux on an old box just to see how I get on with it.

It's not too late, guys. I've just hit a speedbump. And accept my apologies, please. I don't really require the Yahoo. I'll be back in a day or two.
kpuls gets Win98
TonyJollans gets Win95
xld gets WinNT
I only need one per OS, so y'all will have to fight over the rest of 'em. :)
And one person can test more than once, so Tony, if you want others, just grab 'em now.

I might be able to release the exe for testing tonight.

What is the dateline for testing it?
Because i'll be having exams soon in a week time that last for 3 weeks.. Might need to ask for some time...sorry bout that...
Do I need to install MS Visual Studio? If yes, what version?
What areas we need to keep an eye of it when testing?

No Visual Studio require.
This is an easy one. We don't need you to really test the software. We just need you to test the ease of installing. The software requires a MySQL ODBC install and (on Win98) may need you to install MDAC. We'll just be wanting to make sure it's "seamless" and clear to users.

Oh. And I think it might take a half hour. Depends on whether your PC is connected to the net or if you have to burn downloads, etc.

Okay, guys. Sorry. I've got kpuls checking Win98 right now. Can anybody test 95 or 2K ASAP, please? Stakes have been raised to $50 if you'll just quick test a few things in the software to ensure it'll run.

Anne,
I seem to be missing something here. Where do I get these downlaods from, the app we are testing (and a database I assume). I got one email, but I thought that was on a different subject.
