What's this all about?

Abulafia et al,

During the Tour de France 2004 (The world largest pro bike-race) Lance Armstrong started a fund-race to support cancer-research. The band was sold for $1 each.

Kind regards,
Dennis

Dennis,

They both play for Celtic. John Hartson and Momo Sylla. They are touring the US right with Celtic and at the first game last Saturday, they were both wearing the "Live Strong" bands. I don't recall any other players wearing them.

How the hell did Big Bad john get one on his finger? Firstly because he's got fat fingers; secondly because he's would have had his fingers in a bag of crisps and wouldn't have had a chance to wear one. :D

He only have a problem trying to get the last Pringle. It's a wristband, not a ring. :p (we need a "muppet" smiley)

This is very cool. My Fire Department has agreed (after a very adept presentation by myself) to purchase one wristband for each member! :) I just think this is great involvement, for a good cause. So thanks Cosmos for providing that link!!

Oh yeah. Other than Excel (and the fam) it's a top favorite habit of mine. I'm a volunteer lieutenant at my local fire department. Been doing it for about 5.5 years and love it. The last couple of years I've gotten into the instructional side of it and am currently enjoying a promotion to Training Officer.

Lol, I couldn't think of a username (back when I hadn't signed up to any forums yet) and the only other passion I had was fighting fire. Well, 1 and 1 still = 2 so that's what I went with.

Did you know that Smitty was also a fire fighter, down in California? And I met someone (name undisclosed) on this forum who was actually born in a fire house! :yes Anyone who volunteers their time (and does it as a career) give tremendous amounts of themselves to the fire service. Volunteers make up for 75% of all fire fighters in the United States, a little over a million nation wide (last figure I heard). And if you're ever around northern Oregon, I can take ya for a ride in a really cool fire truck! (works great if you have kids, lol)

Take care! :)

Hey Zack -

I didn't know Smitty was a smoke-eater..... does this mean I have to have more respect for him than I already have???? :thumb
