Hi,

I have a spreadsheet that whenever I open it asks me if I want to update the links, which I don't. As other people access this file, I am trying to get rid of these links, however, I'm struggling.

I can't seem to find where these links are. I've tried a couple of things that I found in the Knowledge Base of this site, but it either doesn't find and highlight the links, or it doesn't delete them.

I have gone to Edit>Links and it shows up a link to another spreadsheet, but not where it is linking from/to.

BTW - I'm using Excel '97.

I use this add-in to remove unwanted links. When you add this it will put it in Tools|Wizard. Close all workbooks then click Delete Links under Tools|Wizard. It will then ask you to browse to the file you want. When you select the file it will give you some options, pick what you want. It works for me. Make sure that your workbook is unprotected and your sheets are unprotected before running this addin.
