Adding a Filter to a Pivot Table Inquiry

All-

I have a pivot table and created formulas outside of the pivot table (columns D & E), but now I can’t add a filter to it since the formulas aren’t part of the pivot table. Any ideas?

The attached file is a pivot table with inventory items, and their values for the month of Sep and Oct. I only want to see items where the value has changed from the previous month, sorted in descending order (largest to smallest).

I didn’t know if it’s possible to create a calculated field instead, or if there was something I could add to my raw data so it’s a filter in the pivot table. I have to do this monthly, so next month I will be comparing Nov against Oct values.
