Hi Joanne,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. :)
I haven't known DB all that long but I've certainly noticed some of the qualities that you mention. Let's hope that other qualities include:
* Being able to accept compliments graciously
* Modesty

Thanks for your thoughts!

Dreamboat is:
Pithy
Shrewd judge of talent
Whether she does it herself, or finagles others into it?Dreamboat makes stuff happen
Indefatigable (I've gotten e-mails from her practically every hour of the day)

Really!!????
Dayam!! No, I don't take compliments very well. I wasn't given them growing up, so am still uncomfortable with them, even at 45...geeze. I wasn't given much support or encouragement either, and I hope I make up for that!
As for Brad:
Pithy: I think he has a lisp
Shrewd judge of talent: Picky as hell
Makes stuff happen: Yeah. If only I could make money at it!
Indefatigable: Can't sleep
As for asteroids: It's not my yob, meng! See mark007 (http://www.vbaexpress.com/forum/member.php?u=33)
Honestly? Thanks so much, you guys. :bawl
I'm honored by your compliments.

See - that's what I mean! You have a helluva funny sense of humor (or we're both just a bit sick :barf :barf
I'm sure it's only the beginning of many DB - and you know what?
Dreamboat - you rock!
(hee hee - inside joke)

Definitely all of those things!!! :)
Like Richie, I haven't known DB all that long. Kind of funny how we met. But since then, I've never had somebody show me so much faith (in myself) than DB has. She's given so much to me and opened so many new doors and opportunities that I can't even begin to describe.
She's selfless and has the biggest heart of anyone I know. And she is humble. When others can often tend to get off-track she is always there to help people with the 'simple path' and does it with a helping hand.
Thank you Joanne for starting this thread. But even the words shown here will never fully embrace what DB does (or is). So yes, thank you DB for all your hard work, caring, tutoring and most of all, your frienship. For without the latter, this place would not have the kind of sparkle it does!
:yay

Thanks for starting the thread Joanne, I fully agree with all that has been said.
Dreamboat is one of the most generous people I have come across anywhere anytime. She spends more hours a day helping people than I spend awake, and when she's not helping people she's making something else happen - like making me help people!
Anne, the world is a better place for your presence. Don't argue about it, just accept the compliments, they are all fully deserved.

Perhaps - but as one preacher told his congregation... "God loves you, but don't let it go to your head!"
Couldn't resist, Anne! :) :D

Seems that by comparison I've known Anne "a little longer". I'd have to say that I find her totally annoying ... ly smarter than me.
Seriously sweetie, you know I'm kidding AND that you're awesome. What you don't know (cos I never told you) ; that time you gave me a thumbs-up? I was just "wow, this person knows enough to write books on stuff" blown away. Shortly after I threw away my dictionary for not listing "Dreamboat" under "self-effacing" OR "unpretentious".

Andy

Another thing about Dreamboat - foresight. Many claim to have it, but usually what they have is 20/20 hindsight. Dreamboat saw the potential of this kind of site, more than a year ago, and it took almost that long to launch. Yet here we are.
Anne, keep those binoculars cleaned and on the horizan. We need and benefit from people like you!!

I didn't get here alone by any stretch.
An idea isn't worth squat unless you have people like y'all to help carry it out. Some of our members have done literally thousands of dollars worth of work...
I've sat here in awe watching the membership go up and up---unbelievable.
And when we advertise the VBA Training and Certification, it could really skyrocket.

DB,
From one point of view I agree with You but let's face it (once for all) :yes .
Your commitment and engagement as well as being very frendly set the tone and the way things are here at VBAX.
Again, life shows how life work:
Give a friendly helping hand and You get all and more back :hi:
(This may not be always applicable but here at VBAX it works to 101 %)
Take care and I?m sure You are fully capable of handling all the good things that have been said about You in this thread :)

Anne has always been very kind, and way too generous with handing out praise. She really makes you feel welcomed. I am truly blessed to be able to consider her a friend.
Since I am not really good at putting how I feel into words, I'll have to just copy someone else.
Friends
A friend is someone we turn to
when our spirits need a lift,
A friend is someone we treasure
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives
with beauty, joy, and grace
And makes the whole world we live in
a better and happier place.

I'm not one of Anne's "close personal friends" and while I don't personally know her, I have never felt that way. Anne has been very helpful with any requests I have made of her. I have also seen the level of commitment she has made to this forum. I am proud to be a member here. The association with someone as friendly and intelligent as Dreamboat hardly seems like an even exchange.
Thanks for the vision, commitment, and focus you have poured into your book and into this forum. We all reap the benefits of your graciousness.
Regards,
Anne Troy

I want you all to know that this thread will carry me through many heartaches.
When I'm feeling down, all I have to do is come read it.
When I'm feeling poor, I only have to read this thread to know how rich I truly am to have such friends.
Thank you soooo much.

Well, there isn't much I can say about her that's not already been said. She Truly has been an inspiration to me. As I have already mentioned on another forum, aside from being one of the few people around who can claim to be a real word expert, she is also one of the most patient and kindest person i have known who really want to help others. I am honored to be in her company. Thanks DB
