Coverting Dot Template to Dotm

I have an old Word Template that is not working properly on the latest Word for Mac version. How can I convert it please?

If you can open it you can SaveAs dotm format, but depending on what you man by 'not working properly' it may still not work properly. I suspect it contains macro code that is no longer supported.
