Table Style issue

I created 'Table 1' style to standardize the table formats in a research paper with the shading, row and cell formatting, and borders as required

However, the Total Row border doesn't seem to get applied when I apply Table 1 to a new table

It seems like it's there, but just doesn't show.

Am I misunderstanding 'Total Row' (I took it to mean the last one)

You have to format the borders for the whole table and the table header separately - see attached

Got it

I was using 'Total Row' and adding bottom border

I used 'Whole Table' and added Top and Bottom borders, and then 'Header Row'

'Header Row' just Bottom border clears the topmost border set with 'Whole Table' so I had to add it back again as 'Header Row' top (= same as table top) border

Seems like there's some inherent order dependencies I didn't get
