Hi,

I am making a PowerPoint interactive presentation in which the user will enter text into a textbox. I would like to have the insertion point active in the textbox when the slide loads. I see VBA for PowerPoint doesn't provide any way to set focus on a particular VBA control. I have tried a number of things in which none have worked. The slide is number 7 and the text box name is TxtMessage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I don't believe this is possible. There are several "examples" on line mainly based on old code by Chirag Dahl but none work for me.

Actually it IS possible.

See Here

The code is virtually all from Shyam Pillai's site and the copyright is his.

Thank you, John, for the time you have taken to find a solution to my problem. I'm afraid Shyam Pillai's code does not work in the version of PowerPoint I am currently running (MS Office Pro 2019). :(

You're right. I just checked in 2016 where it works perfectly but it doesn't in 2019

Hopefully this fixes the problem in 2019
