There have been a few User Defined Functions submitted as KB entries recently. Is it possible for Excel to show Function Tips for UDFs the way it does for built-in functions?

Yes, but you have to put them in the excel sheet where you would assign shortcuts...ALT-F8 > EDIT > Options
YOu can type the description there.......I have not yet figured out how to do that bit programattically yet though...but that is where the option is to put a description of the function...

If I am on track with what you are asking for.......you can use MacroOptions to assign some basic text about what the function does....there are some others methods I have seen, but none reliable besided the method Laurent Longre provides in Dennis's link

Is that display a new feature?
I don't seem to have it in Excel 2000.

It's a 2003 feature. I happened across a blog on Excel 12, and I see that Intellisense is coming to the worksheet, so maybe I'll just have to wait.

I don't seem to have it in Excel 2000.
It was implemented in XL2002 aka XP.

I'm guessing this can't be done, or in any case not easily.
Thanks for the help.
