View Full Version : To copy the Structure of a database?
My database consists of several tables, queries, modules and a switchboard. (I used it for my 2005 Income Tax). Now I want to use it for the 2005 tax. So, I want to copy the underlying structure...but not the data. Copy the tables, etc. It should be simple...but this is ACCESS!

I think you'll find it more awkward than just copying the whole thing and deleting the data you don't need. Switchboards use data in tables so you can't just start from completely empty tables. You'll be wanting to keep the queries, forms, etc. as well so it's only the tables. How many tables can it be? Just delete all records from them and compact the database.

When you do copy/paste with a table, you can opt to to choose Structure only, with a new name. You can then delete the old tables and rename the new ones to suit.
