Hi all,

Just pondering what the best options career wise are if i wanted to make a living from VBA?

What would i need, when looking for jobs nearly all require SQL knowledge which i don't have. Is it a case that i would need to learn new skills to go with VBA?

I know of websites like UpWork and Freelancer but does anyone actually make a living from that?

I would love to create/ tinker/ fix spreadsheets and work from home as currently i work in an office full time.

Any feedback is welcome

Cheers,

George

Well I don't know about a living but, with your approach to tackling VBA issues, it shouldn't take too long for others to gain a trust in your approach. How much you want to charge and whether you get paid are issues you need to sort out. I trust you, and have no qualms about recommending you to others

Thanks Aussie,

I am trying but unfortunately i was a bit of a muppet in school and came out with poor grades - this led to me starting work at the age of 15 and not going to college or uni.

I have no qualifications to speak of so i have to let my work experience do the talking.

Some of the best people did not go to Uni or College, so don't discount that.

SQL and VBA go together like toast and butter

I am going to have to learn some...

As it stands i have a good knowledge of a language that nobody cares about "AutoIt" as i used to write bots in my younger days.

I have a book on SQL - it's just bringing myself to read it when i already work 10 hours a day 5 days a week.
