Hi Everyone,

Due to redundancy , i am on the "job hunt" !
I have been asked by a recriutment agency
to sit an Excel Test ........:dunno
Does anyone on this forum have any experience
of these tests ???
Any pointers would be gratefully received !!!

TIA

The only recognised one I know of here is the ECDL, for which there are plenty sites, courses etc. I've never sat a real test, but in trial types, I find problems with the names of dialogs, constants used etc. which I use all the time from the intellisense options.
Good luck

Unfortunately, this is so dependent upon the organisation running the tests.

You may take one test where all it requires is to demonstrate a familiarity with the UI, what menu options do, what buttons do etc.

Another test might start asking about how to use facilities, Data Validation, Conditional Formatting, Pivot Tables etc.

Yet another might set some scenarios, and ask you to reach a particular goal, leaving you free to determine the route.

And so on ...

Because of this it is diffcult to be specific.

I did a google, and found some interesting posts, http://tinyurl.com/aeluc, but it is not a carte-blanche answer I am afraid.

An interesting discussion on this topic appears here as well with some good points of view
