If we have more than ten (non-VBAX-staff) members we will be giving away two books. Less than ten will only garner one given away. Everyone else is encouraged to buy it (the link is on my web page at www.linkemup.us/outlookbook (http://www.linkemup.us/outlookbook)) and tell all of your friends to buy the book.

. . .- Y'all come!!! (as the saying goes in the South)

That reminds me of a joke I heard:

How do you tell the difference between singular and plural when talking to a southerner?

Y'all = singular
All y'all = plural

:rofl

I'll try to get to the chat as well!

Sound like an excellent idea to be reminded but when trying to access the "click here"-links nothing happends.

Is it only for US-citizens :D

BTW, when will it be possible to access the chatroom via Linux and with the browser FireFox

All the very best from,
Dennis :006:

The chatroom is not our software, D. :)

The link should work now. :( Not like I wanted it to, tho.

Hi, :006:

Requirements

++ Macintosh System: Apple MRJ installed (download (http://developer.apple.com/java/download.html)); Internet Explorer 5 or higher (download (http://microsoft.com/mac/download/ie/ie50.asp)) with Java Enabled (Edit/Preferences/Web Browser/Java); Netscape MRJ Plugin Installed (download (http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/OJI/MRJPlugin.sit.hqx)) (installation instructions (http://www.whathelps.com/mrjinfo.html)); Netscape Communicator 4.76 or higher (download (http://home.netscape.com/download/archive.html)) with Java Plugin enabled (Edit/Preferences/Advanced)

Hi, Zack. These requirements sound out of date and seem to be for Mac OS 9. MS has not updated IE for Mac for 2-3 years.

Perhaps you should refer to OS X web browsers:

Safari (standard on OS X after 10.2)
Netscape 7
Mozilla 1.8
FireFox
Camino

And I believe that standard OS X installation of these browsers includes the Java Enabled.

---------------

Just in case there is another Mac user out there! :rofl :bink:

It might not quite be 3.00 pm GMT but isn't this supposed to be now.
I can't get into the chat room - is it just me?

Just to let everyone know, I thought the discussion this morning very helpful. I have been using Outlook at work for five years, but I learned several valuable tips.

Special "Thank You" to Steve for his time and knowledge.

I'd like to echo shades' comments. In a poorly attended chat Steve was the perfect host and a mine of information.

Thanks, Steve.

Poor attendance made it easy to do the "pick a number" thing to give the book away, though.

It was fun, although I was definitely hoping for better attendance.

Any suggestions for how to achieve that? It would be nice to hear from those who were unable to attend on that idea.

I?m missed it (as usual) due to my problems with the time-zones...

Kind regards,
Dennis

What day / time would work for you?

XL-Dennis
10-03-2004, 04:55 PM
Between 13:00 - 01:00 Stockholm's time-zone :)

I also believe the system with reminder as above will also be helpful.

Kind regards,
Dennis

Erm, Dennis ...

LOL - the chat was at 17:00 Stockholm time on Saturday

I do think reminders are a good idea though, but how do you make people use them?

Brandtrock

Steve- please accept my apology for missing. I was very interested in participating.

I was unable to attend (although I did get my reminders and would have had I been near a PC) because I had to return to Iowa unexpectedly. Left by Greyhound bus on 9/27 at 10:15 pm, arrived on 9/29 at 10:55 am. That just started everything. A series of meetings and the purchase of an automobile had to be finished prior to leaving on 10/2 at 10:00 am. I returned home last night (10/03) at 11:30 pm.

Probably way more information than required, but I have been operating without a PC for a week. How did we ever get along before?

Is a transcript available?

Thanks,

XL-Dennis

Tony,

I know and I was also working in front of the screens :(

I have now written a time-zone table in Excel with a third part Active-X control enabling me to get the time-zones right for the 20 most important spots around the world.

Kind regards,
Dennis

Yeah, Shades won a book and skipped out on us.

By the way, it went in the mail today. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think of it, but don't be too harsh.
