how can i enable macro in word doc as its causing prob in running macro

We need a few more details.

What is the macro supposed to do?
How is the macro called, and where?
What version of Word?
Can toy post some code?

its ms 2000.

the macro is suppose to generate a new report with database n to use the inputs which is stored in a txtfile.

pls help

shreya: We cannot guess what the problem is. Can you please paste your code here? IF you don't know how, please ask. We are happy to help, but have no idea what is wrong if you don't provide information. If you can, please attach the template.

Check your security settings. Tools, Macro, Security. Set it to low. See if you can run it then.

Methinks JOrzech has hit the nail on the head. I converted to Office 2000 not long ago and had the exact same problem - it had me tearing my hair out and swearing to go back to '97 for a while... :bink:

OK, MEDIUM then (which gives you the choice of enabling or disabling macros). However the implicit assumption was that this macro was created by the user & is therefore relatively "safe" to enable....:bink:
