Solved: automatic updating table

During the recent worldcup I saw a spreadsheet that was used for a score prediction competition.
Down one side of the sheet where the group tables.
When a score was entered in main part of sheet the group tables automatically updated and sorted into correct order without user having to do anything.
How this is done as I would like to use this on something I am developing
