Hi all :hi:
I thought I would inform You about a new blog:
Xl-Dennis on .NET & Excel (http://xldennis.wordpress.com/)
I decided to create my own blog in order to set focus on how to use the .NET platform with Excel. It will also cover VSTO and also about connecting Excel to SQL Server 2005 both directly and via the .NET platform.
At present I've decided to post on a weekly basis. In that way I hope I can get some quality of the posts then pushing the number of post with less good quality.
All the very best from,
Dennis

I've read most of my book and last night I downloaded the VB.net programme, so I'm looking forward to some good stuff to get me going!
Thanks Dennis.

You're welcome :)
Let me know what You want to see on the blog and I will add it to my 'to do'-list.
BTW, which book do You refer to?
Kind regards,
Dennis

Hi Dennis,
I purchased Visual Basic.net by Jesse Liberty (published by O'Reilly) for my holiday reading on my last visit to Sweden (I know, sad, isn't it).
As far as learning goes, I find I'm better working on a project, so what I have in mind is an ammunition sales/stock control system for my rifle club. It has to be a very simple, foolproof user interface probably incorporating a member number and password. Data can be stored either in Excel or Access, but I'll go with Excel as it's the subject of your blog.
I look forward to your insights.

Hi again :)

I hope the book was indeed very good ;)

That's the best approach for me as well. I've scheduled the first case to be a 'micro' data/presentation project that will go through the stages of VBA/VB VB.NET to VSTO.
In my experience we can do so much better UI-solutions with .NET then with VBA/VB so I believe the project at Your club is an excellent case.
TTYL,
Dennis
