Hi everyone. :hi:

I want to ask a question about just a little mathematics.

10x and 5.000y and 25.000z are equal to 165m.

So,

1x and 250y and 3.000z are equal to how much m?

Can we solve this question with Excel?

Thanks a lot. :think:

Too little information. You need more formulae to allow for all the variables.

I agree, Bob. I was going to post something along the lines of "in excel? I can't even do that on paper", but I thought maybe it had been too long since I did something like this and was just missing it :)

We can certainly solve these. But 3 variables require 3 equations.

After you have all the equations you can use the solver. Or we can make a macro.

iX + jY+ nZ = mM
X = (mM-(jY+nZ))/i . . .Call that solution 'A', solves to x=Y~Z~M
Y = (mM - (nZ+A))/j . . .Call that solution 'B', solves to Y=Z~M
Z = (mM -(A+B)/n . . . Solution 'C', solves to Z=~M.

Can you nest Solver?

Plug solution C into the Y = ? equation, solve and plug those into the X= equation and solve for M

1x and 250y and 3.000z are equal to how much m? is a gimmee once you've got values for X, Y, Z, and M.

You need 3 seperate equations, otherwise these formulas are all the same (just rearranged) and you could have infinite solutions.

Hi,

Thank you xld, mvidas, DRJ and SamT. :hi:

You tired for no reason at all cause it was just missing these variables. I am sorry for that.

Now i perceive my mistake and i am giving some effective rates to x,y and z.

And i solved it with a formula:

=(((Variable_Value_x*((M/100)*percent_x))/X)+((Variable_Value_y*((M/100)*percent_y))/Y)+((Variable_Value_z*((M/100)*percent_z))/Z))

Result: 13,695

I could not add the file here, but i am uploaded a picture of spreadsheet to:

Thank you all. :friends:

Best regards.
