.. aren't you in England Adam? ... LOL

I don't know what it is, never heard of it, but it sounds very cool! So, MD, you have any poems you'd like to share with us? I love a good poem. :)

I've got some, but all of my books are at home, and I'd hate to misquote or destroy the works of those guys.

But, you can't go wrong with Pablo Neruda or Octavio Paz. There's one by Octavio Paz that just squeezes my heart to almost bursting every time I read it.

It's in spanish and was translated to english. The spanish version is best and has the most feeling, but the english is ok. Nothing ever translates from spanish to english and keeps the same emotion and sentiment as originally intended.

First time I head about the poet's day was in the early 80's :)

Nice to see that it's still in use :D

BTW, add an A like "It?s the poet's day A"

Kind regards,
Dennis

I'm just the amanuensis, (look that up in your Funk & Wagnells), don't know who wrote it.

Computer Foibles

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted at a very last resort,
and the access of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report.

If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash,
and the double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash,
and your data is corrupted cause the index doesn't hash,
then the situation's hopeless and your system's going to crash!

If the label on the cable on the table at your house
says the network is connected to the button on your mouse,
but your packets want to tunnel to another protocol,
that's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall ....

and your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss,
so the icons in the window 've got you reaching for the sauce,
then you may as well just reboot and go out with a bang,
'cos as sure as I'm a poet, the bugger's going to hang!

If the copy of your floppy's getting sloppy in the disk,
and the macro code instructions cause unnecessary risk,
then you'll have to flash the memory and you'll have to RAM your ROM
for Christ's sake turn the damn thing off and telephone for mom.

Ok now I feel silly... :blush :104:

...my excuse is that I posted at gone two pm, by which time my brain had shut down for the weekend. It was last seen heading for the coast...
