Gantt chart bar formatting

Hi,

Im trying to format the gantt chart bars at the beginning of the project so that a certain portion of the bar is one colour and another portion is a different colour. Also is it possible to add a symbol at a certain point along the bar. I dont want it to effect the bar like a split or % complete, I just want to format the style of the bar.
