Buttons to keep track of missing items

Hey guys,

I am looking for a way to assign a grid number to some buttons and have the buttons add up the total of missing pieces and keep track of when the buttons were pushed. So we have 18 spots on a grid. I want to keep track of the grid number and the location of any of the missing pieces to help identify if it is a specific grid or spot on a grid that keeps missing pieces. The layout of each grid is 3 rows of 6 pieces. I want to have them enter a grid number and then push the buttons of any pieces that are missing. I also want to be able to view each of these and find out when the buttons were hit and compare them to other grids or see if it is the same grid. Would something like that be possible? So here is kind of what it would look like.
