Help writing a VBA code!!!

Hello All,

I am having the most difficult time writing a VBA code that prompts either a message box or an email to pop up on a certain date.

Here's the deal. I have an Excel Spreadsheet with a list of dates. On a particular date, with the workbook open, I want excel to either pop a msgbox up that says "Smart Bros. Corp. Time for Cert Renewal" or open an email through outlook.

I appreciate any and all help. I am a beginner in VBA so please explain it simply.

How would it know which date amnd where would it get the data to display?
