    Alternative font types by vba

In an earlier post "Manual override via checkbox" it was suggested that I could use an alternative font function to either post a tick mark or make a comment

On MD's invitation I have constructed a Q & A type worksheet which uses MD's code. Column A is simply a mathematical question, Column B is a supplied answer, and Column C uses the alternative font styles. Feel free to delete any of the values in the range C1:C3 to try this out.

Note: "a" in one of these cells will give you a tick.

    Ted

    Hi Ted
Time for the next bit. Use Evaluate, Trim and a little string manipulation to check your answers. (I've hidden the code meantime to avoid temptation)

Hmm.... just guessing here but you'd be a handful at christmas time when handing out the presents, wouldn't you?

The first bit that I presented isn't right then to compound matters, you want me to do something with Evaluate, Trim and string manipulation..... then you hide the code

    Hi Ted,
Your code example is basically fine. I think it should apply to C2:C4 though, and for pactical purposes to the whole of column C, but only run if there is a value in B.
I can certainly see circumstances where it would be useful to check an entered figure against totals/calculations from other cells and enter a tick or other comment.
Happy to supply the password to the code at any time!

Malcolm, I didn't write the code. You did.
