Date Problem

Hi Experts

I need a excel formaul where i can do the following cal.

Make any day in a month "equal" that month ------ so

if i have 01/06/07, 11/06/07, 07/06/07 (in a column) then in the next column these become Jun-07, Jun-07, Jun-07....

But i know this is easy......BUT the problem lies "when" i do a pivot table i just need to select the month Jun-07 once not see is three times......

What i am trying to do is select all the dates that fall in a particular month and see what account they relate to.....

Need this to work for any day..............

Say your date is in A1, A2, A3 ...
Then in B1 put :- =DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1),1)
This will ensure that all (say) July dates appear as 1st July, your pivot table should then be based on these values.

In the pivot table, select the Date header and right-click it.

Select Group and Show Detail

Select Group

Select Months and OK
