    Joseph (malik641) Promoted!

It is my distinct privilege to welcome Joseph to 2nd VP of our Knowledge Base! Joseph has been one of the most diverse and giving members of this board. He has excelled in every aspect of leadership and skill. I can think of no other person more deserving of this position than he. Joseph, you live in Jersey, which we can forgive, but thanks for everything you do here. You really do make a great difference.

    Congratulations Joseph

Zack is behind the times and doesn't know that Joseph has moved to sunny Miami......

Joseph has been here for a while and I am so pleased that he is part of our group.....well deserved promotion.

Nah, I knew he went down South... but he is still from Jersey to me. Kind of like the New England in me.. my parents were from Jersey. And I say, once from Jersey, always from Jersey.

You're just trying to stir me up aren't you? We have been here before, Jersey is an island in the English Channel, just west of the Cotentin peninsula. Joseph is from NEW Jersey.

That aside, congrats Joseph. I still love the SQL forum even though I haven't contributed much.

LOL! Oh Bob, sometimes you're too easy.

Here in the states, it's just Jersey. And it doesn't even play out right as you don't have the accent. You've gotta say it with the accent. Joisee. Not Jersey.

Wow! Sorry I missed this thread!

Thanks for all the support, guys. And the promotion! I know I haven't done much with the KB (but I will), but then again I haven't really been here for a while! There are lots of reasons for that.

To make it short, I've been busy with school and work, but mostly school. I switched majors about a year ago from Mechanical Engineering to Computer Engineering and I'm loving every bit of it. I've studied VB.NET, C++ and Java in the past year. I'm now starting to program in Java for my Blackberry phone in hopes to impress the people at RIM (Research in Motion) if/when I get a job interview. They recently opened an office near Fort Lauderdale and my professor knows someone who works there and helped me get in contact with him. I already have one app on my phone and I'm working on another.

At my current job I have only recently been doing a lot of VBA'ing. And after learning more about programming I am noticing how much those classes has helped me become a more efficient programmer and I believe I will be able to help out even more!

Yes, besides my profile, I have been calling it New Jersey ever since Bob has corrected me.

I'm glad you like the SQL forum. I haven't done much there, either, but it's nice to see stanl become the local guru over there!

I'm also still thinking about the VBA Challenges forum. I have some interesting ideas and I think it will give the gurus some fun. The problem I keep running into with that is about the judging and who "wins"...not to mention who judges (which will probably be me). And of course, if people "cheat" and how to even tell if that happened (posting in other forums, stealing other code, etc.)

Thanks again guys and it's good to be back! Please forgive me with the KB approving. I actually have some new KB's of my own to submit, but I won't until I get some approving under my belt (good motivation, you know?).
