If you know how to do it why are you asking?

There's no difference in the method for the frontend/backend.

but I'm thinking that because you can specify the paga or form for the front end , then how would I set it up for the back end so when it is split it will autmaticly display the desired from for the front end and the desired form for the backend (when split the db will not ailow design view)
does this make since? (sorry I assumed you knew what I was thinking) so I need to set up both pages for front and backend befor split of DB.

    Sorry you've lost me.

Why won't the db allow design mode after splitting?

And even then why would that you preclude you going the normal route of Tools>Startup...?
