sending mail from excel via smtp-relay

I am currently using aspmail and a networked smtp-relay.

For some odd reason aspmail refuses to work in excel on this specific machine. Is there any other way to send emails from a vba script in excel?
I know that it is easy to use Outlook but I want to use the smtp-relay.
