Hi,
I have a drop-down box in a cell using data validation..
I am wondering if it is possible to input the "Source" of the Data Validation from other sheet using range names..
thanks

Yes, exactly as you describe it.

I am doing exactly this, but am getting the "...you may not use references to other worksheets..." error.
Annoyingly, I got round this before, but can't remember how.
I think in hindsight the problem was in my coding.
As mentioned in the original pots, you have to create a defined name for the raneg in the other sheet, and use that name in the DV.

Ta, your reinforcement pointed me in the right direction.
The name had been defined but between splitting the sheets into separate workbooks and sending them around the t'interweb before receiving them back and then re-amalgamating them into 1 workbook, the external sheet named ranges had got prefixxed with the name of the temporary C: file used when saved as separate sheets from email.
Oh well, fixed now.
