When you say capture does that mean that QLD could sometimes be QWE and so on?

Is the part you want to capture always three letters long and in uppercase?

Do you want to put the captured word into another cell?

    Greetings da_phat,

You'd need to be a bit more specific as to what is being looked for, such as: the literal string "QLD", or the second "word" where we could tell Excel to look for the spaces, or ???...

    Hope this helps,

    Mark

EDIT: Oops! My slow typin' again...
