1000 unique items seems to be the absolute limit for autofilter, I don't think you can change that. Doesn't even seem to be changed in 2007.

yes it does seem to change in 2007, had over 3000?
That is odd, I only got 999. Have you got SP1?

couldnt you write code to find a value and hide all other rows?
