Error: Too Many Different Cell Formats

I've just tried to use the border function to put a border on cells A10:Y10.

and when I do this I get an error message:

    "Too Many Different Cell Fomrats."

All I want to do is put a border under the cells.

    I'm using Excel 2003.

Why am I getting this error, and how do I resolve the problem?

    Cheers

Edit: I get the same error if I try to make the cells BOLD

It seems you have too many cells formatted (Bold, Italic, Highlight, cell back color or pattern). Try deleting some if not needed or use less formatting on the sheet...
