    Solved: Ribbon does not show

    Hi there,

I have made a .xlsm file with a ribbon and saved the file in Excels startup folder (i.e. Excel Options, Advanced "At startup open all files in: C:\ITI\Excel startup")

But the ribbon does not show. When I open the file, the ribbon shows, but I want the ribbon til be shows at all times.

    Anyone got an idea?

This suggest that the file is not opening at startup. Are you sure it is in a startup directory?

Yes, I have copied the path into Excel options, Advanced, 'At startup open all files in'. But it does not open the file or load the ribbon.

I have tried to rename the file to .xlsb, and now it opens the file, but what I want, is just to load the ribbon (not open the file)

You cannot just load the ribbon, the ribbon only gets updated from a file that is opened (except the Excel ribbon tabs of course).

    Hi Xld

Thanks for your ansver. Now I have discovered that if I save the template as an add in (a .xlam file) it works! The ribbon loads when I start Excel, and the file does not open.
