    Solved: Hlookup and Vlookup problem

    Hi there,

I have a table for look up for number of year and max deduction % from the table (attached Table A.xls) in cell K8 and L8. I'm able to use LARGE function to find the nearest value from the table against the computed value in G8.

Now I try to lookup the number of years from Column A and % of decduction from Row 10 using Hlookup and Vlookup function from the table with the nearest value in I8 but it returns as 30 and 70% respectively instead of 4 and 30% as highlight in yellow cell and red font.

Why my Hlookup and Vlookup does not return the correct value?

    Any help is appreciated.

You can only lookup values in the first row/column.
This uses Row 9 (contents are hidden) as a "helper" row

Post a workbook with sample data and layout if you want a quicker solution.
