Compare two worksheets

Is it possible to compare two worksheets, basically the same excel file, lets say i take a snapshot of the file at the beginning of the month in sheet1 then at the end of month i take a second snapshot of the same file in sheet2 and then compare the two to see what has changed and return the result in sheet3 e.g which file was deleted, added and modified

In sheet3, perform a vLookup on Sheet2 data with Sheet1 data.

That might get you started, will show you which items are in both sheet1&2.

I'm not exactly an expert, but that's my suggestion.
