Just a simple form with one combox and a textbox with Passwordchar set to *, and two buttons, OK and Cancel. Pre-load the combo with user ids, and check the password on OK. Job done.

Hi XLD,
Thank you. In continuatin with the Login id, when I enter as "User" in the workbook, all sheets in the workbook should goto "ReadOnly" mode while I enter as "admin", should be in edit mode.
Please guide me.
Thanks
Vineela
Wouldn't just be easier to save the workbook as readonly recommend, password to modify? that way the admin WILL have the password and the lower level user wont!
No VBA needed, no forcing of enabling macro's...........foolproof! (well as foolproof as Excel can be)
