    Solved: Fractions

    Hello Everyone,

I need your help. I'm using a spreadsheet that calculates sizes of a rectangle. I used Format Cells option to show the result in 16th's of an inch. Is there any way to have Excel reduce improper fractions? For example Excel may provide an answer of 15 8/16. How can this be automatically reduced to 15 1/2?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide!

    Trouble with reducing fractions

Thank you for your reply. I'm having some trouble with your solution. That formatting returns a value of 5 0/1 when applied to 5 2/16. Any other recommendations??

    Thank you.

It shows as 5 1/8 for me, so no, no other suggestions.
