Macros that can do automatic calculations with v-lookups on large data sets

At my company they have MS-DOS based data storage system were data is imported into ms excel. Does any excel vba/macro expert know of any code that can be generically used for migrating data from a ms-dos program, to a ms excel spreadsheet? Also do you know of any algorithmic v-look-ups that can do multiple calculations and possible macros with equations were multiple calculations can be performed by the click of a self created button of a large dataset? if you have any samples were this type of operation can be performed that would be very helpful?

And finally, do you know of any vba code that can be used to transfer from a sql program to ms excel?
