Stuck with Afterupdate

I am stuck......... and its probably simple :S

Basically........ If i put a letter in a cell i want it to pull up a message saying update done........

Running through Visual-basic in excel and it works while using the play option but when on the active sheet i put a letter e.g (A) into a cell (B7) and nothing happens? :s
