Close Wbk-a and open Wbk-b

Is it possible to completely close workbook-a and open workbook-b?

if not possible, is it possible to open a workbook in it own environment?

i.e.

I wbk-a is open and i click the excel short cut to wbk-b, wbk-b will open in the same object. if I don't want to open wkb-b in the same object as wkb-a, I click the start menu, click Excel and it opens as a completely and independent object.
