Red face "Ghost" Tracked Changes when using "ActiveDocument.ConvertNumbersToText"

    Hello,

I am using Word 2007 and a very simple macro statement: "ActiveDocument.ConvertNumbersToText" to deliberately "freeze" (so to speak) auto-incremented numbering (tied to bullets and numbering lists) and make these numbers hard text.

Sometimes, EVEN IF TRACKED CHANGES IS NOT set, invoking this macro creates tracked changes on some (not all) of the items that it has acted upon.

This is benign considering all one has to do is simply accept these changes. (Actually, I could probably just add it into the macro to accept tracked changes.)

However, I'd like to understand why these "ghost" tracked changes appear when in fact they were not asked for!

I have attached a file with a small excerpted sample.

    Anybody?

As always -- this forum is the best.
