Solved: fill up cell background colour

i would like to change the cell 1 background colour if i enter a date on cell 2.
how can i achieve that?

You should be able to achieve that with conditional formatting.

Ive just tested it using the "formula is" option in conditional formatting using the formula =IF(B$8=$A$9,1,0), copying along the row, and it seems to work for me.
