    createobject("ExcelApplication") 2010/2013

I have googled this a lot and found a few posts about renaming file names and other stuff that really screws up the registry.... but

assuming: you have both Office 2010 and 2013 installed. Is there a way when making an ADO call to Excel.Application to specify to load either Excel 2010 or 2013 depending upon the file to be opened?

If you have Excel 2013 installed, why does it matter which Excel version you open the file with? Excel 2013 can work with earlier Excel versions' files.

No, it's not - what does ADO have to do with CreateObject("Excel.Application")?
Be as you wish to seem
