Ctrl+click the left or right arrow button as needed.

The query is with regard to the FIRST worksheet and LAST worksheet direct navigation. Say i am at any given sheet and want to go to the first or the last worksheet directly.
The shortcut I gave you will scroll the sheet tabs so that the first/last tab is visible. There has never been a shortcut, to my knowledge, that will select that sheet directly. You can however still right-click either button to get the list of sheets.
