Evening after evening my telly only shows 'snow' on the Excel TV channel ?

Here's how to fix it. Take the Excel TV cartridge out of the Nintendo and blow on it a few times. Then try it again. You might also try upgrading your firmware.
I had to use the pink pearl eraser on the board inserts. Just make sure to remove all of the old tarnish with the eraser. Also make sure to get all of the eraser dust (if you call it that) off of the card. Then you should be able to reinsert the card and continue like nothing ever happened.
If this does not work on the 997th time it will be time to upgrade. The above approach is the tried and true method of how to determine when to upgrade all of the hardware.
