MS Project Copy to Excel issue

So I inherited a Macro that takes my mpp files and converts them to Excel so i can use a Vlookup to maintain near real time spreadsheets for multiple coworkers. The Macro runs fine but has one issue it runs into and I have to take over and get it past the bug. If a user saves the project without summary tasks the project could not copy collapsed data hidden because there are no summaries to expand from. So my solution is to input a line before the line appProj1.OutlineShowAllTasks, appProj1.ShowSummaryTasks before that line so that the outline show all tasks is available and does not cause error 1100. Also I would like to write it in a way that ensures that whether the project is saved with or without summary tasks it enables summaries and expands the entire file. Thank you for the help.
