    Pivot Time?

    Hi People,

I have a list with headers set to:
    Date
    RecordID
    Time
    Identifier
    Action

    RecordID is unique, i.e.Primary Key
Action is either log-on or log-off

I want to summarise the above so it shows by day, how long an Identifier has been logged in. Columns:
    Date
    Identifier
    Time Spent Logged In

There would be several dates and several Identifiers for each date. A new RecordID is created each time an Identifier logs in or out.

Attached is sample data in Excel. Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks,

Easiest way is using a pivot table, but does required a little work since the data is not laid out optimally for a PT

Need an extra column assuming that the data is in pairs = On in row Nm matching Off in row N+1

    Need a calculated PT field

Thanks Paul, was thinking the same kind of thing over night, your example works for me.
